| Our own 'real life' experience is that you can
live much more cheaply than in the UK although you need to accept that you have
to shop 'locally'. If you go to the main large supermarkets and fill your
trolley with Heinz Baked Beans you'll be shocked at the cost! At the more
'local' supermarkets there is an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables of
excellent quality and very low prices. |

| But the real beauty of Cyprus,
the thing that will amaze you and bring you back again and again is the
wonderful people. the Cypriots are amazingly friendly and genuine and will go to
great lengths to speak to you and take you into their homes and families as
genuine friends. |

At first it is a little uncomfortable as you tend to be looking
for 'the catch' all the time but rest assured there isn't one. The Cypriots have
a lot to teach us... And as I mentioned earlier almost all the Cypriots speak
English which makes being 'abroad' so much easier with our appalling language
skills, but do try to learn a little Greek if you can, it is greatly
appreciated. |
